Google Meet has introduced a new AI-powered feature called “Take notes for me,” designed to help users stay engaged in meetings without the distraction of manual note-taking , ZDNET reports. Part of the AI Meetings and Messaging add-on to Google Workspace, this tool automatically summarises key discussion points and provides a digestible summary for the meeting owner to distribute.
Exclusive Access for Gemini Users
Only users with Gemini Enterprise, Gemini Education Premium, or AI Meetings and Messaging add-on licences can access this feature. Alongside other Duet AI tools like face detection and noise cancellation, “Take notes for me” aims to enhance productivity by storing meeting notes in the meeting owner’s Drive folder, adhering to organisational retention policies.
Admin Control and Gradual Rollout
Admins can control the availability of this feature within their organisation via the Google Workspace admin console. The feature is being gradually rolled out, with completion expected by August 21, 2024.
