He highlighted the potential of tools such as ChatGPT-4 to break down language barriers, enabling easier communication and conflict resolution, even in remote areas.

Henao argued that technology inclusion should precede financial inclusion, as it paves the way for broader access to financial services. By adopting and adapting relevant technologies, Papua New Guinea can fast-track its development process, shrinking timelines for overcoming obstacles from decades to just a few years. This approach could significantly enhance the country’s ability to address issues more efficiently and inclusively.

Michael Kumung, Deputy Secretary of the Department of National Planning and Monitoring, underscored the importance of innovative research, science, and technology in transforming Papua New Guinea. He noted that the inaugural conference set a vital foundation for future discussions, emphasizing the need for research-driven, evidence-based policies.
