June 14, 2024YouTube’s Latest AI Feature: AI Comment Sorting on Shorts
YouTube, the world’s largest video-sharing platform, is testing an AI-powered feature that sorts comments on Shorts into specific topics. This innovation, announced by the YouTube Team, aims to help users quickly find and engage with relevant comments without endless scrolling. By grouping comments into easily digestible themes, users can save time and participate in focused discussions more efficiently.
Mobile-Exclusive and Creator Control: Not Yet Widely Available
Currently limited to the mobile version of the app, this feature is available to a select group of users or Shorts with extensive comment sections. YouTube emphasises that while comments are automatically sorted, creators have the flexibility to keep or remove comments they deem unnecessary. The feature organises published comments only, excluding those held for review or containing blocked words.
Positive Feedback and Additional Features: Maybe They’re Onto Something?
The rollout follows positive feedback from a similar AI-powered comment sorting feature for long-form videos. Additionally, YouTube is testing ‘Dream Screen,’ which allows creators to use AI-generated green screen backgrounds for Shorts. These innovations underscore YouTube’s commitment to enhancing user experience through AI.
