Deepfake Scam Involving Christopher Luxon Costs Pensioner Thousands
A New Zealand pensioner lost $224,000 after falling victim to a cryptocurrency scam involving an AI deepfake of Christopher Luxon, the Prime Minister of New Zealand, reports RNZ. The scam used a convincing deepfake video of the National Party leader to lure the victim into a fake investment scheme.
