A recent Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Policy National Consultation in Niue brought together key government and private sector stakeholders, reports Television Niue. The event provided a platform for discussions on the implications of the ICT policy for Niue’s digital development, with a focus on how emerging technologies, including Artificial Intelligence (AI), will shape the island’s future.

Hon. Ricky Makani, Temporary Minister for Infrastructure, emphasised the government’s strong support for policy-driven technological progress. Stakeholders actively participated, offering insights on leveraging technology for sustainable growth. The consultation underscored the importance of collaborative efforts in refining and implementing ICT policies.

Upcoming ICT Symposium
Looking ahead, Niue will host an ICT Symposium involving all key stakeholders to officially launch the ICT Policy and the recently completed National Digital Strategy. This event marks a significant step towards Niue’s goal of becoming a digitally inclusive society.
