Fiji and Japan have signed a major Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at deepening cooperation in digital transformation, with a strong focus on artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and smart infrastructure (Fiji Times).
The agreement, signed during Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka’s official visit to Japan, reinforces both nations’ commitment to a digitally connected and resilient future. Japan’s digital agency will work closely with Fiji’s Ministry of Communications to strengthen local capabilities, modernise public services, and support climate-smart digital infrastructure.
Key areas of collaboration include developing AI-based solutions, improving data governance, and increasing Fiji’s access to global tech innovations.
