Google has unveiled significant updates to its Gemini AI platform, releasing Gemini-1.5-Pro-002 and Gemini-1.5-Flash-002 models, aimed at boosting performance and reducing costs for developers, reports PYMNTS. These new models feature advanced math, vision tasks, and multimodal capabilities, handling complex inputs like long PDFs and videos more efficiently. In a competitive move, Google slashed prices by 50% for prompts under 128,000 tokens and increased rate limits, making the models more accessible for businesses, including startups. The updates also improve speed, accuracy, and processing power, potentially revolutionising AI adoption in sectors like eCommerce and retail. Alongside these improvements, Google introduced new features, such as custom AI assistants and enhanced image generation, further expanding the platform’s capabilities.
